The SMSEngine is the core of the SMS Gateway and handles the SMSC connectivity via EMI/UCP, CIMD2, SMPP Interface, the data could be on File System or Microsoft SQL Server or MSDE. The DWS is the Web front end to access and manage the SMS Gateway.
